Meeting 47. Problems with the facial recognition software

Summary:

1. Great news! Finally, I found the solution for synchronization of facial recognition data and video game.  The 'start' button was removed by 'press F9'. The participant presses 'F9' and automatically the video recording software 'Action'. It is working right now.  The analysis of facial expressions in Openface would be done after the game. The video must be trimmed at 10 minutes and 11 seconds, totaling approximately 607 seconds. The video has a reliability of 98% in Openface. The programmer needs a little time to modify this setting in all five conditions, I hope the other week is all ready.

2. Open Signals software (heart rate) does not work in the lab PC due to it have not Bluetooth. Then, I will buy a 'Bluetooth USB micro dongle' to install in the lab computer. It can detect my sensor of heart rate in the lab computer. In this case, I wont need two computers in the experiment. This Bluetooth dongle is cheap in Marketplace. I will buy the next week. I hope that it will work.  

3. My expectations is pilot this experiment on Friday (16th February) and Monday (19th February). I reserved it already. I hope to invite you to pilot it. I will confirm it next week.

4. Long time ago, we are working in a paper about my master thesis. It was abandoned because I could not write well my ideas and other problems. Last four days, I wrote this paper again. I send you paper, if you want to read it. I know that it is not important now,  but it may be the background about the purpose of my doctoral thesis. I submit it in a conference about 'Robotics in education' for April 18 to 20. If it will be accepted, I 'm going to train my English and exposition skills there!. Link of the conference. 

5. What I do now? I am reading about Facial expression recognition, tools to measure empathy, and virtual robots.
