Summary meeting November 28/2017
Marie gave me the some changes of the last version of the video game:
Elements on the videogame
1 - Dramatic event: It is necessary to improve the interpretation of the dramatic event. For this reason, in the dramatic event, we will be add blood to animal/ robot-animal when it will be hurt. Also, we want to stimulate the sensation about shot, we will be add shot sound.
2 - Music: Music is an important element in the videogame. Because, in the present version is a bit
boring. Then, we will be add variation the music through in the game.
3 - Duration: Marie impression was that videogame is very long. However, we need to pilot with other people to analyze the duration of the game is an important variable to affect to player.
4 - Instruction video: It is based only in one condition. I need to make of all conditions instruction
videos, it can conserve the voice of the first video.
5 - Screen with the bar indication: when you did on the button, they disappear. We need to solve this problem.
Element on the experiment procedure
1) Write down a procedure
2) Find a solution for the synchronous measurement between software and videogame
3) Analyze the data of Openface and Heart rate before to start the experiment.
Time of the PhD
We spoke about the time of running the experiments. The importance of my focus and concentration on the experiments and writing time to make more efficient it. Due to the projection of the following two years may not be enough to finish my PhD, the following solutions are proposed:
2018: Understand the process of two experiment, to dominate the data and analysis and writing process of a scientific article.
2018-October: Within the regulations of my scholarship, it is possible to ask to COLCIENCIAS for the possibility of the suspension of my grant for six months. This in order that I need to go to Colombia, and work in there by six months in School. In the school, I have access to 400 children in the technology class, where I can collect data from the experiment with children. It should be placed on the letter that would not have supervision in that time because it is possible only in Netherlands. If this permission is granted, I could extend my scholarship for 6 months, to complete the funding not in November 2019, but until May 2020.
2019: January –August: Make in Colombia some experiments. If it is not possible. Working in Netherlands in another two experiments.
2019: August: We need to make an additional letter to Colombia to extend permission of another two years additional of PhD (2020-2021). Independently if I finish it in less time. I can stay in Netherlands for another two years but without funding. I would have to find a part-time job and I could write my thesis during this time.
